A representative from Umbaugh and Associates reviewed water and wastewater rates with the Bremen Town Council members this week.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said the council may need to make a decision about rates soon.
“Everything is going up with costs so we may have to raise rates in the near future on our wastewater and water utilities in town,” said Weldy. “For right now we’re holding steady until the end of 2018 and then we’ll see what everything looks like.”
A rate increase is typically recommended to ensure the town is adequately charging for services. It is also recommended to keep ahead of expenses when looking to apply for grants.
