The Argos Town Council members amended the Electric Code and Rate Ordinance last week where language pertaining to residence was included.
Argos Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney explained that the prior ordinance didn’t have a requirement that a resident’s name needs to be included on a mortgage or a lease in order to use utilities at a property in Argos. That was approved as part of the revamped ordinance.
A rate study was conducted on the electric and other utilities last year. Electric rates were adopted in 2017 and recent wording changes were approved to be included in the ordinance.
