School safety was a topic discussed at this week’s Culver School Board meeting.
Superintendent Karen Shuman said that the school recently sent out a survey to teachers, students and parents. Though the survey included a variety of questions, Superintendent Shuman focused on the question that gauged the community’s perception of safety at Culver Community Schools during Monday’s meeting.
Shuman said survey takers were asked to rate how safe they thought the schools were on a five-point scale.
Shuman said, “Both, our internal teachers and students and then our external parents gave us a rating of 4.2 or higher, as far as that they feel that our schools are safe.”
Following the tragic events that took place in Florida recently, Shuman said it is important that community members are aware that safety is a priority at Culver Community Schools.
