Plymouth BOW Members Approve Police Vehicle Purchase, Officer Promotions

The Plymouth Police Department will be getting two new police vehicles.

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members approved a quote from Oliver Ford in Plymouth for two vehicles for the police department. The quote was for $28,150 per unit with two trade-ins. A 2011 Ford Crown Victoria will be traded in at a cost of $1,500 and a 2013 Dodge Charger will be traded in at a cost of $2,500.

Police Chief David Bacon said he got another quote from National Auto Fleet Group for $32,956 per vehicle.

The board members were asked to consider the purchase Monday night as price incentives were set to expire today (Thursday, Feb. 15).

The board members approved the quote from Oliver Ford in Plymouth.

In addition, Chief Bacon asked the board’s permission to extend a conditional offer of employment to Jared Arnold after Nicholas Kindig’s resignation. The board unanimously approved the request, along with Chief Bacon’s recommendation for promotions.

“I’d like to promote Tim Taberski and Ray West to sergeant and Bob DeLee and Ryan Richey to corporal. I’d like that effective March 1st and those positions to carry a six month probationary period.”
