Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist discussed an interlocal agreement with the Town of Culver and Marshall County Building Commissioner Chuck DeWitt.
Leist explained that the agreement allows DeWitt to work with the town for building and planning services.
“In the agreement, we pay Chuck for the outside time and then we also had an agreement for $2,000 to pay the county to have Chuck available during normal business hours,” said Leist. “We’d like to renew that for another year. We just had a couple of changes that we thought were appropriate. I think moving that up to $3,000 was acceptable to everyone. I’d like to add a clause that it be renewed each year unless notified otherwise. I don’t have a problem reviewing it every year. On our end, we’re pretty happy with it.”
DeWitt noted that an interlocal agreement with the Town of Argos also included a payment of $3,000 to the county so Culver’s agreement would match the amount.
The commissioners unanimously approved the agreement with the changes as presented. The agreement will be renewed annually with a 90-day notice to opt out of the contract.
