Commissioners Approve Transfer Documentation for Shady Rest Home

Shady Rest Home

The Marshall County Commissioners discussed a proposed transfer documentation for the Shady Rest Home.

County Attorney Jim Clevenger said the agreement with David’s Courage is similar with what the county had with the Bowen Center. He asked about a Shady Rest Preservation Council that was included in the previous agreement. The commissioners would like to keep a three-member Shady Rest Transition Committee organization including an appointment by the commissioners, a county commissioner and a county council member. Members would ensure accountability in security and inspect the facility and operations from time to time.

The lawn care equipment and two vans included in the proposed agreement were eliminated as the county no longer owns those items.

Clevenger will forward the proposed agreement with a few modifications to Ted Hayden and Gregg Erickson who will operate the David’s Courage addiction recovery program at the Shady Rest Home on Lincoln Highway in Plymouth.
