A lot of snow has fallen in the Marshall County area this winter and the Town of Bremen is not immune to the effects.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said the street department crews have worked hard to clear the streets and sidewalks of snow and ice. Piles of snow are being hauled away for better visibility and ease of traffic.
Weldy mentioned that the town purchased a good amount of salt prior to the season and there is about half of the supply remaining for any future snow events.
Overtime is being looked at carefully in this year’s budget. Weldy said they are trying to stay away from any extra overtime outside of snow removal efforts as the budget took a hit this year.
