The Culver Town Council will hold a public hearing tonight to consider comments on the town’s proposed traffic ordinance.
The traffic ordinance designates a congested motor vehicle traffic and pedestrian area on Lakeshore Drive and signage will be placed between 508 Lakeshore east to 824 Lakeshore Drive. The ordinance also creates a no parking zone for 50 feet from the intersection on both sides of the street on Batabano and South Plymouth Street.
There will be no parking allowed on the east side of Ohio Street from Davis to Mill Street and no parking on either side of Ohio Street from Washington Street to Jefferson Street.
The final portion of the ordinance bans semi-truck and trailer parking on residential streets. Semi trucks and trailers may be parked on private property in residential zones. Semi-truck idling time is restricted in a residential area for no more than 15 minutes.
After the public hearing is over, the council members will consider a third reading.
The council is also expected hear from Tony Sellers concerning WinterFest and they will approve board and commission appointments. Town Manager Jonathan Leist will have a Stellar update along with his regular report and the other department heads will provide updates to the council.
The Culver Town Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Culver Town Hall at 200 E. Washington Street.
