The Marshall County Commissioners were presented with a master agreement for the lease or purchase of copy machines for all county departments.
County Councilman Bill Githens worked with Ricoh representative Patrick Nau to formulate an agreement to be presented to County Attorney Jim Clevenger for review. There are five departments who have copier replacement requests in their budgets this year and it is the hope that this contract would save the county thousands of dollars in copier leases or purchases and maintenance and service fees.
Ricoh has the state bid contract for copiers. They have had the state contract for 15 years.
County Attorney Jim Clevenger made some revisions to the paperwork that best fits the practices of the county. A purchase order would comply with the master agreement to move forward with a purchase.
Nau mentioned that Marshall County Superior Court No. 2 offices will be getting two new machines. They will get a brand new machine and a refurbished machine for a $200 service charge which is $150 a month cheaper than the current charges. Purdue Extension officials is also looking to purchase a copier. Previous quotes of $12,000 and $9,000 were obtained from vendors while the Ricoh contract quote would be $6,900 with cheaper service charges.
Copies are charged per copy made.
The commissioners unanimously supported a motion for the approval of the master sales and maintenance agreements with Ricoh.
