Argos Superintendent Provides Update About Switching From Appointed to Elected School Board

Argos Superintendent Ned Speicher provided school board and audience members with an update about shifting from an appointed board to an elected one during Monday night’s meeting.

Their plan about this process is expected to go before the State Board of Education in February, according to Argos Administrative Assistant Patti VanDerWeele.

Due to differing terms, two members, Monty Peden and Jennifer Hurford will remain on the board for now, but eventually, their seats will also be up for election. Individuals will be elected to the three remaining seats during the general election in November.
