Triton Jr./Sr. High School Special Education teachers Michelle Waymouth and Sarrah Davis recently organized a fundraiser to collect donations for the Plymouth Veterinary Clinic dog therapy program. Dogs in the program visit Triton on a regular basis to aid and comfort students in need.
A total of $200 was raised and the check was presented to organization representatives by Principal Bob Ross. Madison Read, founder and president of the therapy program PVC Pals, said the funds will help cover the cost of certification and insurance for the animals as well as for pet friendly restaurants in Philly, medication and vaccinations.
“Pets aiding in loss and support” is the motto of the organization. Read said they work with schools and senior centers and they’re currently working to expand services to assist orphans and hospitalized individuals.
