The Bremen Town Council members were updated on two ongoing projects during their meeting on Monday night.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said the clean-up project at the old Clarke gas station property is nearly complete.
“As far as the old gas station on the corner of 331 and 106, they’re in there this week tearing out the tanks,” said Weldy. “They found out there was 3,000 gallons of fuel left in those tanks that were sitting there for 10 years with nothing there. The tanks are coming out. They’ve pumped out all of the fuel and now they’re taking them out.”
Casey’s General Store officials are also making progress in construction of a new store.
“Our Burger King restaurant is now gone. It’s been torn down and now Casey’s is in there now getting ready to put up their new building. They say that it’ll be up by the end of the year.”
