Some employees working for the Town of Bremen will be wearing uniforms beginning in the new year.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said the town council made that decision during this week’s meeting.
“Water and wastewater employees have never had uniforms before,” explained Weldy. “We gave them a clothing allowance and we’re going to incorporate all of that into 11 uniforms in a two week period. It’ll cost us a little bit more money, but they won’t be taking these things home. The wastewater guys are working with things you should want to take home and wash in your washing machine. It’s the same with the street and water guys.”
The uniforms should be ready before employees return to work following the holiday season on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
