The Triton School Board held a special session Monday evening to discuss the superintendent’s contract. The current superintendent, Donna Burroughs, announced her retirement back in September.
The board has been interviewing candidates for the position and recently came to a decision about who will fill the open position. Burroughs said state law mandates that school boards must hold a public hearing over the superintendent’s contract for the sake of clarity and in case anyone wishes to implement a change.
She stated that no public comments were provided during the special session. Burroughs said the contract is essentially the same except for salary, which is a little less now since she has a few more years of experience than the new appointee.
Burroughs said the new superintendent will be officially announced at the next regularly scheduled school board meeting on Monday, November 13th.
