Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman approached the commissioners with a request to apply for two grants.
Prosecutor Chipman explained that IPAC Drug Prosecution Grant worth $2,000 was already approved. The money will be used for undercover drug buy money. He said the Marshall County Drug Task Force is very aggressive and that grant money will replenish the money supply for those efforts. The commissioners unanimously approved the grant request.
Another grant application request is for the same purpose but it comes from the Governor’s Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana. An officer with the drug task force applied for the grant with the permission of Prosecutor Chipman for another $2,000 for undercover drug buy money. An additional request was made for $773 for undercover cameras under the same grant. The commissioners also unanimously approved the request.
