The Marshall County Commissioners discussed a contract to update the look of the county’s website.
IT Director Michael Marshall said this contract is for web hosting and web design for the county.
“It’s a company called e-gov out of Indianapolis,” explained Marshall. “They have Hendricks, Vigo, Kosciusko, Deerborn, Dekalb – they have quite a few counties that they host. They have some tools as far as document management, event planning, and calendaring that we just don’t have right now on our site.
He seems to think that entering into this contract would be beneficial for re-branding the county’s site.
“Their designs are very professional. My office will still do the maintenance and updating of the website. We’re just getting help in a fresh design and using their equipment to host it. We’ll still be responsible for the content.”
The project would take approximately six months to complete.
The annual maintenance and support fee is $1,440 which will be funded out of Marshall’s budget. He assured the commissioners that he would not need to seek and additional appropriation for the expense.
The commissioners voted to take the contract under advisement and will consider it at their next meeting. Commission President Kevin Overmyer said several entities are meeting with ideas to re-brand the county and those creative thoughts may be incorporated into a new design for the county’s website.
