The Culver Town Council members will take part in two work sessions prior to their regular business meeting tonight.
At 5 p.m. ET, the members will discuss the salary ordinance and at 5:30 p.m. ET they will review possible changes to the traffic ordinance to include semi-trailer parking, speed control and pedestrian crossing. The public is invited to attend these work sessions.
The regular business meeting will open at 6:30 p.m. ET where the second and third readings will be considered on a zoning ordinance amendment. At the last meeting, the council members voted to exclude the L1 zoning changes from the other changes proposed within the recommended zoning ordinance amendment. They unanimously passed the first reading on the following changes: lowering the required number of parking spaces for general commercial businesses in the C2 district, changing the sign ordinance to allow lighted signs within a certain maximum foot candle, changes to the allowable uses in the Municipal Park district, creating permit requirements and establishing fees for solar power systems, requiring issuance of a building permit and permit fees for roof and shingle replacement, and a general reformatting to follow the zoning ordinance format used by other municipalities in Marshall County.
The council will also consider the Southwest Conservancy District Contract request to add two properties to the sewer district, consider an ordinance that enacts and supplements the Code of Ordinance, and the first readings of ordinances concerning service weapons and traffic.
Other department reports will be given during tonight’s meeting.
Both work sessions and the regular council meeting will be held in the Culver Town Hall at 200 E. Washington Street.
