The Culver Town Council members revisited quotes for a new truck for the utility department.
During the Oct. 24 meeting, Town Manager Jonathan Leist explained that the sewer plant truck is no longer in working order so a request was made by Utility Superintendent Bob Porter to purchase a new truck.
Porter gathered several quotes and the lowest quote came from Cambe in Knox for a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado in the amount of $28,771. The cost would be split between the street, water and sewer budgets.
The council members did not approve the request at the time as the council members had questions about the purchase.
During last week’s meeting, Porter said the old pickup truck isn’t worth spending money for the towing cost or to make the needed repairs. The department has been down one vehicle as the transmission is not working in the truck needing replaced.
Without any additional discussion, the purchase was unanimously approved.
