Culver Town Council members will soon tackle an issue surrounding semi truck parking in residential areas.
A citizen brought forth issues during the council’s regular meeting on Tuesday night stating that it’s difficult to maneuver around the semis parked in residential areas. He’s fearful for the safety of the residents and children, in addition to it being an eyesore. Some trucks are parking on narrow streets like Ohio Street and Mill Street.
Police Chief Wayne Bean commented that he encourages truck drivers to park their trucks at the street garage and at the water tower.
There isn’t an ordinance currently prohibiting the action. Police Chief Bean, Town Manager Jonathan Leist and Utility Superintendent Bob Porter have discussed the issue in a department head meeting and will present their findings plus a recommendation to the council during a work session set for Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 5 p.m. ET at the Culver Town Hall.
