Construction on the River Gate South housing project continues at the corner of Michigan Street and Lake Avenue in Plymouth.
City Attorney Sean Surrisi told the Plymouth City Council members Monday night that crews are working on the foundations.
“They should have, in the next day or two, the stormwater pollution prevention bond in place which will allow them to get their permitting and get things going,” said Surrisi. “Sometime in the middle of next month the precast concrete pieces that go on top of the foundation work that they have is supposed to arrive. Then they can finish the drainage work. The plastic pieces there, I guess, are for the drainage system that is underground.”
The target date for completion is June of 2018 with leasing to begin at that time.
The housing project includes the construction of three apartment buildings. The east and west buildings will have 15 apartments consisting of one, two and three bedroom apartments. The center building will have nine condos with two and three bedroom units. Ground level parking will be available under each building as well as an outdoor lot.
