The A through F School Accountability Grades for the 2016-2017 school year were released this week by the Indiana Department of Education. Locally, Triton, as well as some Plymouth Schools showed improvement from the year before.
Both Triton Elementary and Triton Junior-Senior High School moved up from a B to an A.
In Plymouth, Menominee Elementary School jumped from a C to an A. Washington Discovery Academy got an A and Riverside Intermediate School earned a B, both a grade level higher than the previous year.
Grades were mixed at the John Glenn School Corporation. The high school, as well as North Liberty School both moved up from a B to an A, but Urey Middle School dropped from a C to a D.
At the same time, Culver Middle/High School dropped from a B to a C. Argos Community Junior-Senior High School earned a C, while Bremen High School got a B.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Jennifer McCormick said in a statement that she’s encouraged by the results, but added that her department’s work is not finished.
