Plymouth Redevelopment Commission Agrees to Commit Funds

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission committed to providing $40,000 worth of funding two different organizations when they met last week.

According to City Attorney Sean Surrisi, commission members agreed to recommit $30,000 to the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation. The same amount of funding was committed to the Marshall County EDC last year.

Commissioners also agreed to provide $10,000 to the U.S. 30 Coalition. Surrisi explained that this is a coalition that is comprised of representatives from multiple counties.

“It’s a group of leaders from the counties, from Porter County on the West to Allen County on the East, all the counties and city leadership along the U.S. corridor that is working to try to get that turned into a freeway.” Surrisi explained.

He added that the commissioners agreed to provide that amount of funding annually to assist with the efforts of the U.S 30 Coalition.
