The new school year has brought a few changes at the Plymouth Community School Corporation. Andy Hartley has recently taken over as superintendent, while Jill VanDriessche will soon take over his old position of assistant superintendent.
During last week’s school board meeting, Hartley said the corporation has hired 35 new teachers this year. Seven of those are going to Plymouth High School. Lincoln Junior High School has eight new teachers, while Riverside Intermediate School is getting three. Several elementary school teachers have also been hired.
Additionally, Plymouth High School has a new school psychologist, and Jefferson and Menominee elementary schools each have a new school nurse. Brandon Berger is also taking over as Plymouth Schools’ new assistant transportation director.
