Plymouth City Council Approves Two Ordinances, Resolution

The Plymouth City Council members did approve two ordinances and a resolution on Monday night.

An ordinance to annex approximately one acre into the City of Plymouth was unanimously approved on second and third readings. The Weir family is annexing a portion of their property on Lake Avenue into the city in order to put all of the parcels into the city limits. The eastern portion of the property is in the county’s jurisdiction. The family hopes to sell the house that’s on the property and use the rest of the property for a proposed daycare facility.

As part of the annexation ordinance, the city approved a resolution that would provide municipal services to the property. Water and sewer services will be available in that area if residents want to connect to that service. That project will be done at a cost of $25,000 to the city. Of that, $5,000 will dedicated to water line installation and $20,000 for the extension of sewer services. That project will begin yet this fall.

The Plymouth City Council members also unanimously approved an ordinance on second and third readings to vacate a portion of Miller Drive. The owners of CTE Properties, Inc. plan to build a building to expand operations in the tech farm subdivision. A portion of the land identified as a cul-de-sac would be vacated by the city. The city has an easement for utilities but it was proposed that the company will grant that portion of land to the city in exchange for the vacation of the property. That project can now move forward.
