The former Burger King on Plymouth Rd, in Bremen that has been abandoned for about 2 and a half years will be occupied by a new company following a decision made by the Bremen Zoning Authority during a meeting last week. Casey’s General Store received the BZA board’s approval on their submitted application and is currently going through the proper channels to purchase the property and receive all the necessary permits.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said approximately 40 to 45 notices were sent out to alert people who lived within 300 feet of the establishment. They only received 4 responses, 2 for the project and 2 against. After considering that information and looking over the application the BZA unanimously approved the use of the facility for Casey’s General Store. Casey’s proposes that the completion of the store will be in April of next year.
