Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi updated the city council members this week on the progress of the renovations of the city building and the chamber of commerce building.
Bids were opened during the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission meeting last week. The lowest bid was submitted by Michiana Contracting for a total of $2,198,700.
Surrisi said the bond sale began yesterday and will close on Aug. 16.
“If everything holds to that schedule, the redevelopment commission and the redevelopment authority will have meetings on Aug. 15 to make some final approvals,” said Surrisi. “At some time after the 16th, we’ll get the contract signed with Michiana Contracting.”
The pre-construction meeting will determine how the company will execute the work and how the offices will adapt to the schedule. There could be a disruption in service or meeting space.
