Work should be done to reclaim roads by the end of this week. Marshall County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters told the commissioners that he anticipates work on 7th Road should be complete this week after repairs are made to some equipment.
The highway workers plan to pave Lilac Road as it’s next on the list. Peters hopes to use the new paving machine on Beech Road when it arrives later this month.
Peters attended INDOT’s Community Crossings information session last week. He said the county will have a 75/25 match split with the state which will make a big difference in the road schedule next year.
“I need to sit down and review some of the roads that we’re planning on for Community Crossings and I would also like commissioner’s input on those as well,” said Peters. “I’m getting information now to present to MACOG for the previous year so they can upgrade their maps and get all of the information they need for some of those roads we’re anticipating on doing next year.”
He will submit the paperwork by the deadline of July 15. Bids can be taken soon after and have a start on the paving schedule for next spring.
