Sentencing Set for Aaron Rovenstine

Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine will be sentenced today at 9 a.m. in the Justice Building.

Rovenstine pleaded guilty in a plea agreement to a charge of intimidation of a law enforcement officer, a Level 6 felony. The plea was made during his trial in early April. Nine additional charges were dropped as a result of Rovenstine’s plea.

A grand jury indicted Rovenstine in February 2016 on 10 charges after an investigation was conducted into bribes between Rovenstine and a former county jail inmate between 2011 and 2015.

Rovenstine has kept his role as sheriff since his indictment. He will have to step down if the judge accepts his felony guilty plea.
