Thursday’s annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast in Plymouth drew the largest crowd in the event’s history in the city.
Mayor Mark Senter welcomed the crowd of 280 participants to the 66th Annual Observance of the National Day of Prayer. The local observance has been in place for 44 years.
Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades from the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend was the keynote speaker where he gave hope to those who may be lost and guidance to the community in the holy spirit.
“We’re pilgrims on this Earth,” he stated. “The road to the City of God passes through this earthly city, the City of Man. We have to walk this road. May we do so with faith, with hope, with courage, and most of all with love and with joy.”
His entire message can be heard on Sunday’s Maximum Impact program at noon on MAX 98.3 FM.
Boy Scout Troops #251 and #257 presented the colors prior to the gathering and free will donations will help them in their club’s efforts.
