The Culver Redevelopment Commission (CRC) will meet today to discuss the Sand Hill Farms workforce housing.
The Culver Town Council members made their decision on two resolutions this week and the CRC is expected to discuss the same resolutions during their meeting today. The town council members voted 4-1 to approve a resolution to authorize funding of the project. A separate resolution was approved 4-1 to enter into an agreement between the Town of Culver and Sand Hill Farms, Inc. for the development of the project.
The Sand Hill Farms project features the construction of an apartment building with 24 units with one, two or three bedrooms. The apartment complex will be built on Jefferson Street.
The council approved financing $300,000 of the town’s share of the project with a local bank. The other $100,000 would come out of the General Fund.
The Culver Redevelopment Commission’s portion of the funding would be $200,000. The combined effort between the town, CRC and a Regional Cities grant worth $270,000 will provide the cost for infrastructure for utilities.
The CRC will meet today at 11:15 a.m. ET in the meeting room in the Culver Town Hall.
