The Marshall County Commissioners reviewed an agreement for the Apple Road bridge project.
The commissioners approved a bid submitted by LaPorte Construction at a meeting in March. Highway Administrator Laurie Baker told the commissioners that the agreement between the county and the contractor is now needed so the project can move forward.
County Attorney Jim Clevenger looked at the paperwork and he had no issues to report.
The commissioners unanimously approved the agreement.
LaPorte Construction submitted a bid of $274,774.68 for the replacement of the Apple Road bridge. The bid came in under the engineer’s estimated cost of $406,000.
Bridge #174, or Apple Road bridge, is on Apple Road over the Yellow Creek, north of State Road 25 before the railroad tracks. LaPorte Construction has not set a day when this project will begin but it must be finished by the end of the fall season. Workers have a 75-day window in which to complete the project.
