The Bremen Town Council received an update on the renovation of the building at 1237 Plymouth Street that now houses the food pantry and the city’s ambulance service.
Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said that work inside the EMS portion of the building is almost complete.
“The painting is pretty much finished and the garage door has been put in for the ambulance bay area,” explained Weldy. “We are getting ready to get the carpets cleaned and then buy some furniture. We’ll be opening bids for a new ambulance service. We’ll see if we can save some money or see what it’s going to cost us for a new ambulance service.”
The town acquired the 10,800 square foot building last year after submitting the winning bid at an auction. The council spent less than $200,000 for the building.
