Diane Fisher from the Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County organization approached the Marshall County Commissioners this week to request permission to hold an event on the courthouse lawn.
“Last year you allowed Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County to put pinwheels out on the courthouse lawn. We would like to do that again this year along with a small ceremony. We’ll have a pastor come in and do a prayer and the mayor has a proclamation declaring April 7 National Wear Blue Day in honor of child abuse awareness,” said Fisher.
Prevent Child Abuse Marshall County will partner with the Heminger House for the Friday, April 7 event that will also recognize sexual assault awareness month. The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. ET.
