The Culver School Board discussed the hire of several teachers during the upcoming intersession and summer school.
Interim Superintendent Chuck Kitchell said two elementary teachers will need to be approved for hire during the intersession which will include four days of instruction. The intersession will be from April 3 to April 6 from 8 a.m. to noon ET.
Students will be offered breakfast and lunch during their time of instruction.
Elementary teachers also need to be in place to assist those students in remediation in order to pass the IREAD3 test. Students will be in the classroom for one week and will be retested at the end of the remediation period.
Two middle school teachers are needed to provide instruction to those sixth grade students who did not hit certain benchmarks in English/Language Arts and Math. Kitchell said this will help the students be where they need to be to start seventh grade on a stronger level. Summer school will last two weeks and will be from 8 a.m. to Noon ET.
The installation of the teachers was unanimously approved by the board.
