Argos School Board Holds Public Hearing for Superintendent Contract

The Argos School Board held a public hearing Monday night to gather comments on the proposed superintendent’s contract.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Robert Boyd said the board is currently interviewing candidates to fill the superintendent’s position.

“They are in first round interviews now and the second round of interviews will take place after spring break,” said Dr. Boyd. “We should be in a position to name the next superintendent by late April.”

The superintendent’s contract provision for all salary and benefits shall not exceed $140,000 and will include costs for an annual basic salary, term life insurance, disability insurance, Indiana teacher retirement fund, and an annual board contribution to group health, dental, and vision insurance premium. The contract will be in effect from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020.

One question was asked concerning the method of payment of insurance. No other comments were brought before the board.

Dr. Boyd has served in an interim capacity since Jan. 1.
