The Marshall County recorder’s plans for electronic document filing will be considered by the county commissioners this morning. Recorder Marlene Mahler is expected to ask the commissioners to approve a contract with e-recording provider Simplifile, after the county council gave its support last week.
Mahler plans to offer electronic filing for mortgages and other documents by April 1. If the arrangement is successful, the auditor’s and assessor’s offices may also join the system by the end of the year, making e-filing available for a greater range of documents.
Also during today’s commissioners meeting, Marshall County Museum Executive Director Linda Rippy will present her quarterly report. This morning’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting starts at 9:30 in the Marshall County Building.
