The Town of Culver has updated its non-discrimination policy. Last week, the town council passed an ordinance amending the town’s Title VI plan. “It just basically governs how we would handle discrimination complaints and creates an action plan for handling that,” explained Town Manager Jonathan Leist, “and it’s something that the state has asked us to do to continue receiving state and federal funding,” .
Under the plan, Leist will serve as the town’s Title VI coordinator, handling any discrimination complaints that arise. Similarly, Utilities Superintendent Bob Porter will serve as ADA coordinator.
During last week’s meeting, Culver Town Attorney Jim Clevenger pointed out the plan requires town officials to undergo training. It also requires detailed records to be kept.
The updated Title VI plan can be found on the town’s website.
