Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 2:00 Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred on U.S. 31 at 9A road in Marshall County with the highway expected to experience delays into the evening hours. Investigators believe that a 2007 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound and pulled into the path of an oncoming semi-tractor trailer.
The impact forced the Impala into the path of a van traveling in the same direction as the semi and into the grass median and into the northbound lanes of U.S. 31.
Both the driver of the van and the semi sustained minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the Impala died at the scene as a result of their injuries. A name is not being released at this time pending notification of the family.
