Incentives for a snack producer moving into the Marshall County Shell Building will be considered this evening by the Plymouth Common Council. Pretzels Inc. announced plans last week to spend $15 million to purchase and equip the building near Pioneer Drive and U.S. 30, creating 65 new jobs in the process.
Tonight, the Plymouth Common Council will consider a resolution that would begin the process of providing a tax abatement from the city. Pretzels Inc. has already been offered up to $350,000 in conditional tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Resolutions related to TIF districts will also be considered.
In other business, the council will consider moving ahead with its $500,000 contribution to the Boys & Girls Club’s rebuilding effort. Council members will hear input from the public, before voting on the additional appropriation.
Tonight’s Plymouth Common Council meeting starts at 6:30, following the Board of Works meeting at 6:00.
The Board of Works is scheduled to consider a resolution to adopt a Commercial Driver’s License Training Reimbursement Agreement. The city helps cover the cost of employees CDL training. Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson previously discussed plans to require those employees to reimburse the city, if they leave their jobs within two years.
