The City of Plymouth continues making some of the arrangements for its Community Crossings grant application. The state program provides matching funds for street projects. During its last meeting, the Plymouth Common Council decided to go for a million dollars in matching money, the maximum amount available from the program.
To earmark funds for the local match, the city plans to use the entire $550,000 Local Option Income Tax distribution it recently received from the state. The rest of the money will come from the Rainy Day Fund. During tonight’s meeting, the Plymouth Common Council will hold a public hearing, before deciding on the additional appropriation.
Meanwhile, the Board of Works will decide whether to approve the city’s updated pavement asset management plan. It’s required in order to receive money from the Community Crossings program, as well as other grant opportunities. The city has been working to bring its existing plan in compliance with the program’s requirements.
Also during tonight’s Common Council meeting, a 2017 salary ordinance for city employees will be introduced on first reading. Meanwhile, the Board of Works will receive an update from Midwestern Engineers on the Ledyard Water Treatment Project.
Tonight’s Plymouth Board of Works meeting starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Common Council meeting at 6:30.
