A semi-tractor trailer overturned this morning on U.S. 31 in Marshall County.
Authorities responded to the 100 block of the highway around 7:30 a.m. According to an incident report, Richard Fletcher of Tennessee was traveling northbound on the highway in the semi, transporting lumber.
Investigators believe another vehicle attempted to pass Fletcher, only to realize that the passing lane was closed for construction work. Fletcher allegedly told investigators the attempt to pass caught him off guard, sending the semi-tractor trailer off the side of the roadway.
The vehicle eventually came to a rest on its roof. Fletcher was able to exit the vehicle following the crash and was only treated for minor injuries at the scene.
