Plymouth Council Schedules Public Hearing for DAC Enterprise Tax Abatement Request

Plymouth IndianaThe Plymouth Common Council will consider taking the next steps in granting a tax abatement to a local business. A public hearing is scheduled during tonight’s meeting on a proposed tax abatement for DAC Enterprise.

The company, which specializes in garage door wholesaling, manufacturing, and distribution, is looking to construct an addition to its Lake Avenue building. According to the advance agenda for tonight’s meeting, the council will also consider a resolution to formally designate the property as an Economic Revitalization Area, making it eligible for a tax abatement.

Tonight’s Plymouth Common Council meeting starts at 6:30, following the Board of Works meeting at 6:00. Tonight, the Board of Works is expected to award a quote for the demolition of buildings at 805 and 809 West Harrison Street.

The board will also consider awarding a quote for the installation of a concrete floor at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, to allow for the addition of a bio-filter. However, Papczynski Construction was the only company to submit a bid for the installation work, for a cost of just under $20,000.

Also during tonight’s meeting, the Board of Works will receive an update on the city’s plans for Indiana’s Community Crossing matching grant program for street and sidewalk projects.
