State Police to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

ISP_logo_1Officers from the Indiana State Police Bremen Post will be on the lookout for impaired drivers. They will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in St. Joseph County Friday evening.

To minimize delays, drivers should have their license and vehicle registration ready when entering a checkpoint. Officers say delays should not exceed two or three minutes.

The checkpoint’s part of the larger Operation Pull Over campaign taking place this month, involving around 250 law enforcement agencies around the state. Additionally, state troopers will also be taking part in saturation patrols, looking not only for drunk drivers but also those not wearing seat belts.

State police say if you see a driver who may be impaired, call 911 and give police a description of the vehicle, location, and direction of travel.
