The Marshall County Council plans to review a proposal by the County Prosecutor and Sheriff’s Department during their meeting this morning.
Sheriff Matt Hassel previously addressed the Marshall County Commissioners about the request. The iRecord system is designed to capture high quality confession video when police are interviewing suspects.
The purchase, expected to cost about $18-thousand, will increase the number of camera angles, and also allow Marshall County to create a second interview room.
The Prosecutor’s office wants the program to better manage video evidence for trial. Currently, Marshall County simply shares dvd’s of the video making for an extensive archive of materials.
County Council members are likely to consider the appropriation, this morning. Their meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. EST at the Marshall County Building.
