Meth and Burglary Charges Land Argos Woman Prison Time

An Argos woman was sentenced on Thursday to several years in prison stemming from a November 2014 incident.

26-year-old Shannon Dixon was arrested when officers responded to a Plymouth home reporting an unwanted entry. According to information released by the Marshall County Prosecutor’s office, the homeowner walked into their residence only to observe a man lying in one of the beds. The victim exited the home and called police from a locked car. Officers say that’s when Dixon and her male accomplice, identified as Richard Gee, exited the home and appeared to waive what the homeowner described as a handgun; motioning the victim to get out of the way.

A description of the vehicle was provided, allowing Indiana State Police to identify a suspect car. That’s when Troopers say the black Suburban began fleeing from police and allegedly refused to stop. A high speed pursuit was taken through Plymouth. Dixon and Gee were taken into custody on Lincoln Highway near the U.S. 31 overpass.

The car was allegedly found to be stolen. A “one pot” meth lab and BB handgun were located inside the vehicle.

Dixon was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine and Burglary after pleading guilty in the case. Other charges were dropped in exchange.

Judge Robert Bowen sentenced Dixon to 16 years in prison for dealing meth and eight years for the burglary charge. Prosecutor Nelson Chipman pointed to Dixon’s extensive criminal history in the sentencing.
