The Culver School Board cleaned up a couple bookkeeping items when it met Monday. Treasurer Casey Howard said that the Special Education Grant wouldn’t be enough to cover costs. She explained that the grant application was turned in before teacher contract negotiations wrapped up and didn’t take into account a pay increase that ended up being included.

Culver School Board to Consider Support of Cavalier Park Sports Center
One of Culver’s proposed Stellar Communities projects will be discussed tonight by the Culver School Board. Board members will consider a resolution formally expressing the school corporation’s support of the Cavalier Park project. The plan is to construct a sports center on a piece of the corporation’s land that’s currently being used as a youth soccer field.
Culver School Board to Consider Policies for Upcoming School Year
The Culver School Board will consider a few policies for the 2016-2017 school year when they meet this evening. Board members are expected to discuss textbook adoption, book rental fees, and breakfast and lunch prices for the upcoming school year, as well as school handbooks. Continue reading
Plymouth School Corporation Adds Another Preschool Classroom
A local elementary school is adding another preschool classroom. The Plymouth Community School Corporation recently got Title I approval to add a new classroom at Jefferson Elementary School. It will ensure preschoolers between ages four and five in Plymouth have access to a free early childhood education. Continue reading
