The Culver School Board has a new member. Amy Pugh was appointed to the At-Large B seat during Monday’s school board meeting, according to Superintendent Karen Shuman. Pugh replaces Ryan Sieber, who decided to step down just a few weeks after he was reelected. Pugh will fill the remainder of Sieber’s term, which runs until the end of 2022.

The Culver School Board is looking for a new member. The At-Large B seat is becoming vacant on February 4, according to a school corporation press release. Ryan Sieber was just reelected to that seat last month.
Culver Schools Superintendent Karen Shuman says Tuesday’s referendum was a “great community effort.” Voters in the school district approved the 17-cent property tax increase by a margin of 1,370 to 1,012.
A small-town environment, school spirit, and making new friends were just a few of the things that Culver Community High School’s foreign exchange students said they liked about their experience this year. Last week, the Culver School Board heard from three exchange students, from Brazil, Norway, and South Korea.
The Monterey School Building has been purchased by a pair of local business owners. Lawrence and Diana Loehmer submitted the high bid of $60,000 for the former school and the surrounding property. Their bid was formally accepted Monday by the Culver School Board. Continue reading

Budget issues have forced the Culver School Board to consider removing the April intercession period from the school calendar. It’s a one-week period immediately following spring break in which students who are struggling with certain classes can work to improve their grades. Continue reading
