
Marshall County continues to keep abreast of its application for the Community Crossings grant program.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the Marshall County Commissioners reviewed the highway department’s Road Asset Management Plan. It’s heavily influenced by PASER testing which evaluates road conditions and ranks them based on needs. The plan is required to receive funds under the state program.



The Marshall County Council has agreed to designate matching funds for a grant application that could lead to greater road funding from the state of Indiana.
A new pilot program is looking to extend the life of Indiana’s roadways and capture revenue that the state believes is currently being evaded.
State Road 19 in Kosciusko County is planned for resurfacing on Monday, but the Indiana Department of Transportation says the start date may depend on the weather.
Marshall County now has a five-year road plan, but it may be a bit of time before funding is found to put it into action.
A multi-year plan for improving road conditions in Marshall County will be considered in the near future.
