The Marshall County Council will meet today where they will approve the appointments of representatives the Lake of the Woods Regional Sewer District and the Plymouth Public Library. Prosecutor Nelson Chipman will also have a request for a waiver of probationary pay for an employee in his office.
Marshall County Council Adopts Budget, Pay Raises
The Marshall County Council members discussed the 2019 budget Monday morning. About two hours was spent trimming more than $360,000 from the General Fund budget to make sure it balances within projected revenues.

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet this morning with several items for discussion.
The commissioners will open bids for the lease on the farm grounds at the Shady Rest Home site. The building is not for lease, but the land surrounding the parcel is up for lease as it is every few years.
Marshall County Council Waives Probationary Pay
Two requests to waive probationary pay for employees were discussed by the Marshall County Council this week.
Community Corrections Director Ward Byers requested waiver for a new case manager who comes to the department with a wealth of experience from Ohio. In addition, the case manager’s pay is based on a federal grant.
Reyes Pleads Not Guilty in Marshall County Superior Court
An initial hearing for Rigoberto Calix Reyes, 21, was held in Marshall County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
Reyes is accused of aiding a 14-year-old Plymouth girl in running away from home and having sexual relations with the girl in March. Formal felony charges in the case include sexual misconduct with a minor, forgery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
His age is an issue as he is accused of altering his birth certificate from the Republic of Honduras to reflect a different birthdate, according to court documents. At the time of his arrest, he was enrolled as a student at Plymouth High School. His alleged altered birth certificate places him at the age of 18. Officials believe his actual birth certificate puts him at the age of 21.
