According to Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier, tax drop off locations include any of the county’s Teachers Credit Union branches, the First Merchants Bank in Bourbon and the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office in Bremen, as well as the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office.

Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier reminds taxpayers that payments can be dropped off in a drop box on the south end of the county building or make payments in person in the treasurer’s office in room 206 in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Officials with the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office are mailing out property tax statements with the first installment due May 10.
Treasurer Angie Birchmeier reminds taxpayers that payments can be made in her office in the Marshall County Building Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will be open on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to noon for taxpayer convenience. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10 so payments can be made on time.
To accommodate taxpayers, the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office will be open extended hours for collecting spring and fall property taxes.
The Marshall County Commissioners heard the request from Treasurer Angie Birchmeier for extended hours for the acceptance of payments for the spring property tax installment due May 10.
Farmland owners will enjoy significant tax relief in 2016 thanks to action by the Indiana General Assembly. Senate Bill 436 freezes the base rate for farm ground at $2,050 per acre. The spring installment of property taxes is due today. The Marshall County Treasurer’s office will be open until 6 p.m. to accept payments. They can also be dropped off at all branches of The Teacher’s Credit Union or at the IAB Bank in Bourbon. Payments not made by the close of the business day will be subject to late fees and interest.
The deadline to pay the spring installment of property taxes is looming.
The Marshall County Treasurer’s office will be open until 6 p.m. ET tonight to accommodate taxpayers in making that payment on time. The office will be open tomorrow from 9 a.m. to noon. Hours will also be extended on Monday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET for timely payments.
Marshall County Treasurer Penny Lukenbill requested the extension of business hours to accommodate the payment of property taxes this spring and fall.
Lukenbill told the commissioners that the auditor delivered the tax duplicate to the treasurer’s office last week. The tax bills are now being created to be mailed out to taxpayers.
Lukenbill requested that the treasurer’s office be open on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. She also asked that hours be extended on Friday, May 8 and Monday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
